Come to think of it, Charles I of England begat Princess Henrietta of England, who begat Anne-Marie d'Orléans, who begat Princess Marie-Adélaïde of Savoy, who begat Louis XV of France, who begat Louis, Dauphin of France, who begat Louis XVI of France. Charles I was Louis XVI's great-great-great-great-grandfather.
It takes a lot of liberties with history for the purpose of presenting a hagiography of Cromwell the "great democrat." Production values are however high, performances are good, and it is a generally interesting film.
Wasn't Louis XVI Charles' descendant, also?
