  1. I think that no 'practical' subjects and fashions of the day ought to be taught at a genuine, ideal university; only mathematics, philosophy and theology.

  2. Herr von Braun, welcome to my blog. I generally agree with your assessment, though in keeping with the format of the trivium and quadrivium, I would add the arts of language to your list. More practical things are justly the domain of polytechnic institutes; professional studies are the domain of particular post-graduate schools.
