Argentine Bicentennial

In commemoration of one of the coolest countries on earth.

¡Viva Argentina!

  1. I agree with the sentiment, but have my reservations about the tango. Incidentally, few would think it, but the Finns, of all people, absolutely love the tango, it is almost a national dance with them, so I hear.

  2. I decided to go with the tango here, Matterhorn, because I thought I needed to go with something other than a flag or an anthem for a national commemoration. That said, the tango really isn't quite my thing either, and that's not just because I have two left feet.

That said, I did look into the Finnish tango the other day. It's much slower than the Argentine. The slow graceful motions and the minor-key music truly do conjure up the melancholia of the Finnish character beautifully.
